Why Visualization WorksPublished by Anonymous on 2007/10/16 (120 reads) Have you ever heard the phrase “it all starts in your mind”? I am referring to the subconscious mind. This is the part of your psyche that collects information from your day. It accumulates and stores your experiences and impressions. This is where the cornerstone of your deepest beliefs are shaped. The thing is, whatever your subconscious is told, it believes to be fact. Why? Because deep down you believe that you would not lie to you, at least as far as your subconscious mind is concerned. This programming is just the first step that leads to the results you get from your life. Consider your life circumstances and you will see a good indicator of your subconscious beliefs. It is all a direct result of your own programming. If you can reprogram yourself for success and control what gets into your subconscious mind, then you can have what you desire. This is why visualization works and is such a wonderful way to reprogram your beliefs. Experiences are what your subconscious mind mostly responds to and the programming influences how the experiences are interpreted. The difference between the conscious and subconscious parts of your mind is that the waking or conscious mind is responding to what actually happens. That includes memories and daydreams as well. Your subconscious mind, however, responds to those things as the same and makes no difference at all between them. As far as your subconscious mind knows, it is all real. An event that is actually occurring and the memory of an event that has already occurred are the same to the subconscious mind. The more you dwell on a particular event and the feelings connected to that event, the more your subconscious mind is programmed. When you use a creative visual image to picture your goal coming to realization, you are depending upon this aspect of the subconscious mind. As you visualize and feel the emotions of reaching your goal, your subconscious is being programmed. What will eventually happen is that you will have your subconscious mind come around to your way of thinking, as a reality, rather than the previous programming messing everything up. If you start a visualization experience with the attitude that it is not going to work, you are probably correct. That is your conscious mind tripping you up. Think this way long enough, it becomes part of the program. Frustration and disappointment will be your only reward. I cannot stress enought the importance of positive thinking. You are what you think. If you get your conscious mind in line with your goals and approach visualization with a good attitude and an expectation of success, do you see how you might be amazed at the difference this can make in your life?
